Personal Statement

I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 20 and surrendered my life to Christian ministry at the age of 22. I am committed to spreading the Gospel among the lost and equipping my Christian brothers and sisters for the work that God has called them to do. Over the past ten years, the Lord has given me the opportunity to work with various age groups of the church. He has specifically revealed my gifts in reaching, identifying with, and teaching children.
I believe the New Testament church must serve five main areas based on the Great Commandment (Matt 22:37-39) and the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20): evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship. Working with children deals directly with all five of these areas. Children represent a main group for evangelism and as they come to Christ must be discipled accordingly in preparation for life. Love and attention are crucial needs of children and fellowship with children strengthens and encourages them as they grow and learn. Children, like adults, should be active in ministry in accordance with their age and maturity (both physical and spiritual) as led and instructed by equipped adults. Finally, all followers of Christ are called to worship Him and children should be led in age-appropriate ways to honor and glorify the Savior just as adults are.
