Welcome to the GSSM Chess home page. 

The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics is located in Hartsville, SC.  Its purpose is to provide additional science and mathematics opportunities to selected high school juniors and seniors for the state of South Carolina.  The GSSM Chess Club has existed since the Fall of 1989 and is always in contention for the state scholastic team title each year.
